NHS overspend hidden to avoid bad press

The conservatives were elected to make sure that we don’t spend any money on the little people. Things like money, health and access to justice are for the rich, not the poor. Imagine health secretary Jeremy Hunt’s embarrassment then when he realized that he had accidentally spent £2bn more than he was meant to on the NHS – inadvertently contributing to a good health service!

That’s really not the sort of thing that you want overshadowing you at your party’s annual conference. So rather than risk the bad press, all discussion of it was kept in private, and NHS bosses were allegedly leaned on by Whitehall to suppress the news until after the Conservative party conference. Mwhahaha.
